Product Launch of the Year
This accolade recognises products available to the independent/convenience channel and are divided into 10 separate sub-categories vital to the impulse channel.
They offer suppliers the opportunity to use the prestigious Retail Industry Awards logo, which is now widely recognised by consumers, as a mark of excellence on-pack.
Suppliers are encouraged to nominate their top launches in each category and the winners will be voted for by the real experts in their field – the retailers themselves.
To be eligible for the awards, your product must have been launched between 1 April 2022 and 31 March 2023 and have been widely available to the convenience trade during that period.
Eligible launches may include any new SKU – be it a completely new product, brand extension or significant packaging innovation.
Winners will be chosen based on:
1. Sales success – how well did the launch perform overall and how strongly did it resonate with consumers?
2. Availability – was it easy for retailers to get access to the product, was it widely available to the independent trade?
3. Innovation – what did the launch bring to the market that was genuinely new and exciting?
4. Strength of launch support – including advertising and marketing campaigns, social media, PR and point-of-sale
